Jean Lafon

French, 1886-1973

Jean Lafon was born in Paris 22 March 1886. He was a painter of landscapes and seascapes, and specialized in moonlit scenes and sunsets. His preferred subject matter was the beautiful picturesque coastal villages of the south of France, where he captured the very distinctive sense of light of that region.

His full name is Jean Keuléyan Lafon, but he signed his works simply Jean Lafon.
