Pio Blanchi

Italian, 1848-1917 Biography

A painter and watercolorist, Pio Blanchi was born January 31, 1848 in Turin, in the Piemontese region of Italy. Blanchi studied at the Accademia Albertina delle Belle Arti in his hometown. The artist comes from a very strong tradition of detailed watercolor painting, which the Italian school is celebrated for.

In 1890, Blanchi moved to America and established himself there as a painter.
